Janice May Carlson

Janice May Carlson, 62, Superior resident, died peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2011 at her residence.

She was born on March 5, 1949 to Einar and Carol (McAuley) Carlson.

Janice graduated from high school in Mountain Iron, MN and received her B.A. and Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

She was employed as an educator for the Superior School District for many years until her retirement in 2004.

Janice loved spending time with her family and friends especially her granddaughters.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Ryan) Little, Superior, WI; granddaughters, Jessalyn Mae and Jadalyn Mae Little; her mother, Carol May Carlson, Duluth, MN; sister, Phyllis (Bruce) Gibson, Yellville, AR; brothers, Terrance (Jeanette), Mpls, MN, David (Janet), Darien, IL and Steven (Lisa) Carlson, Goldin, NY and several nieces and nephews.

Janice is preceded in death by her father Einar Carlson.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Lakeside Cemetery, Town of Lakeside, WI with Pastor Patrick Ziems of Zion Lutheran Church officiating.
