Janice Renee Halli

October 21, 1939 — September 18, 2019

Janice Renee Halli, 79, of Proctor, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.

She was born on October 21, 1939, and raised in Poplar, WI as the daughter of Aaron and Edith (Paulson) Bloom. Janice was married to Lee Halli on September 22, 1962 and celebrated 47 years together before his passing in 2010.

As a loving and dedicated mother to her family, she was a stay at home mom and also enjoyed doing childcare for her neighbor. After her family grew up, Janice worked at JC Penney for several years. She was a lifelong member of Salem Covenant Church and enjoyed Covenant Park Bible Camp throughout her life and she passed that love onto her daughters. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, gardening, canning and baking anything with apples.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Lauri Halli, Linda (Mark) Howitz; granddaughters, Rebekah and Sarah Howitz; nephew and Godson, Jeff (Lisa) Nolin; nephews, Greg (Carrie) Nolin and Shawn (Amanda) Halli; niece, Joyce (Martin) Toso; brother and sister-in-law, John and Karen Nolin.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Halli; sister, Althea (Bob) Parsons; parents, Aaron and Edith Bloom; brother-in-laws, John Halli and Davin (Harriet) Halli and her In-laws, Waino and Hilda Halli.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019 and will continue until the 11:00 a.m. Service at Salem Covenant Church, 339 N 59 th Avenue West, Duluth, MN, with Pastor Steven Osborne officiating. Internment will be at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery in Hermantown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Salem Covenant Church.

The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
