Janice Pietila

Janice Pietila, 61, Superior, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospice Care in Duluth, MN.

She was born on March 1, 1954 in Chicago, IL to Bill and Bernice (Fougere) Pietila.

She graduated from high school in Chicago and went on to be an executive assistant for the Commissioner of the Health Department for the City of Chicago.

Janice was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed sewing and baking.

She is survived by her daughter, Alissa (Aaron) Larsen, Superior; four grandchildren, Rachel Olson, Emma Larsen, Mason Larsen and Katie Borts; one brother, Marc (Joan) Pietila, San Diego, CA; one sister, Sonja Pearson, Buffalo Grove, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon and will continue until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service on Sunday, December 27, 2015 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, Superior with Alice Olson and Sonja Pearson, co-officiating.
