Jean T. Biver

Jean T. Biver, 99, Superior area resident, died Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Superior Rehab, Superior, Wisconsin. She was born on September 24, 1917 in Superior, WI to John and Victoria (Chudecke) Linski.

Jean graduated in 1936 from the former Central High School in Superior. She volunteered in the office at the former St. Mary’s Hospital that was on Weeks Avenue in Superior and previously assisted the Director of the Department of Human Services of Douglas County.

She married Raymond Biver in 1942 and they celebrated fifty-six years of marriage before his passing in 1998.

Jean was a member of the Altar Society and President of the Home and School Association for the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and was a R.S.V.P. award winner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her parents, four sisters, Stella Sumoski, Ann Curillo, Helen Biver and Mary Skandel; two brothers, Joe “Pug” and Walter Linski.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Greg) Guenard, Superior, WI; three grandchildren, Scott (Karen), Superior, WI, Erik (Susan), Montreal, WI and Kevin (Julie) Guenard, Duluth, MN; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Karena, Trevor, Olivia, Tate, Jacob and Iley, two great great-grandsons, Liam and Kail and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior and continue until the 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Father Andrew Ricci as celebrant.

Pallbearers for the service will be Greg Guenard, Scott Guenard, Erik Guenard, Kevin Guenard, Tate Guenard and Jacob Guenard.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Jean’s name to Cathedral School.
