Jean “Lolly” Hotchkiss, 78, longtime Superior resident, died peacefully, Sunday, August 20, 2023, at her home with loving family by her side. She was born in Baraboo, WI, September 29, 1944, the daughter of Harold and Florence (DuFrense) Bolen. She graduated high school in Babbitt, MN in 1962.
Jean worked as a real estate agent and manager at the Real Estate store in Ironwood, MI.
Jean was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and was a member of The Eagles Aerie Club in Superior. She had a knack for cooking and baking and was known for her delicious pumpkin bars and potato salad. In her free time, Jean enjoyed rummage sales and playing Bingo and Bunko. Most of all, Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, and her dogs, Charlie, and Hope.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Bonnie (Dennis) Quam, Superior, WI, Lori (Jim) McManus, Bloomington, MN, Nanci (Paul) Drake, Beulah, MI, and Carrie (Shawn) Bradley, Superior, WI; son, David Holmberg, Ironwood, MI; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Stutz; brother, David Bolen, and niece and three nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 25, 2023, at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street in Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service with Gary Banker officiating.
