Jeanette L. Plunkett, 88, Poplar, WI passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Superior.
She was born on June 12, 1927 in Superior to Gustav and Signe Peterson and has been a long time area resident.
She and her husband Richard owned and operated a farm in Cloverland for 40 years.
Jeanette was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon, WI and its Altar Society. She also was the secretary and past president of the church council. She was a member of the Villagers Homemakers of Poplar. She was very active as a 4-H sewing leader for many years.
Jeanette is survived by two sons, Richard “Keith” (Jackelyn) Plunkett, Maple, WI, Brian Plunkett, Poplar; three daughters, Mary (Ralph) Frostman, Iron River, WI, Janice (Richard) Oaksford, Douglass, TX, Barbara (Thomas) Kolodziej, Iron River, WI; one daughter-in-law, Gloria Plunkett, River Falls, WI; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband Richard; a son Calvin; her parents; three brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass on Monday, January 11, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon with Rev. Fr. Adam Laski as celebrant.
Burial will be in Lake Nebagamon Cemetery.
