Jeanette C. Zelma

Jeanette C. Zelma, 81 of Superior, WI, passed away on December 1, 2020 at Superior Rehab. She was born December 13, 1938 in Hawthorn, WI to Nels and Myrtle (Rusk) Sutherland. She attended East High School.

Jeanette married Edward Zelma on October 6, 1956 in Superior, WI.

Jeanette loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and to the cabin in Iron River, as well as family vacations to numerous campgrounds and resorts throughout Wisconsin. She enjoyed fishing, throwing darts, gardening, and watching hummingbirds. Jeanette collected anything hummingbirds and loved collecting Amish dolls. She will be greatly missed.

Jeanette is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward; son, Thomas (Amy) Zelma of Lancaster, OH; daughter, Tammy Zelma of Superior, WI; grandchildren, Alissa Hicks-Olson of Superior, WI; Brandon (Haley) Zelma of Lancaster, OH; Katie (Noah) Watkins of Nelsonville, OH and Drew Lasko of Lancaster, OH; great-grandchildren Brantley and Eldridge Zelma of Lancaster, OH; sister Shirley Johnson of Superior, WI and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Scott Zelma; sisters, Betty Schuster and Dorothy Doyle; brother, Donald Sutherland and her parents.

The Zelma family is grateful for the care and compassion shown to our mother/grandmother by her home health caregiver and friend Becky, Essentia Palliative Care Team and the staff at Superior Rehab.

A Celebration of Life will be held for both Edward and Jeanette Zelma, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Friday, May 14, 2021 at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior. Service is at 1:00 PM with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, 3424 E. Highway 105, Superior, WI.
