Jeff Hermanson, 68, Lake Nebagamon, WI, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 13, 1945 in Superior to Gunnard “Hermie” and Elna (Niemi) Hermanson.
He graduated from Northwestern High School.
Jeff served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
He married Laura Ronkainen on March 18, 1972 in Pine City, MN and celebrated 41 years of marriage.
He was employed with Lakehead Construction for many years.
Jeff was a member of the Bong-Hofstedt American Legion Post #409 and the Labor Union affiliated with Lakehead Construction.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting. He also loved his cats Max, Molly and Shadow.
In addition to his wife Laura, Jeff is survived by his mother, Elna Hermanson, San Diego, CA; his sister, Maureen (Jim) Young, San Diego, CA and several nieces, nephews and godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Gunnard.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and will continue until the 1:00 PM Funeral Service on Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with Chaplain Ron Henely, officiating.
Burial will be in the Poplar Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be Don Ronkainen, Jr., Marty Ronkainen, Roger Salomaki, Donald Ronkainen and Shannon Salomaki.
