Jeffrey M. Greely, 76, lifelong resident of East End in Superior, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 21, 1947, the son of John “Jack” and Alice (Mason) Greely.
He was a graduate of Superior Senior High School and served his country honorably in the United States Army with the 9th Infantry Division for two years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He then worked for Northern Engineering as a machinist for many years, retiring in 2005.
Jeff was a proud member of Disabled Vets of Foreign Wars and the local VFW. He was also an avid fisherman who loved to fish all over the Superior area.
He will be dearly missed by daughter Maizie Greely; stepchildren Marlen (Tim) Peterson, Darlene (Dave) Abrahamson, and Kim (Les) Dzick; several step grandchildren; sisters Joyce (Jerry) Archambeau, Judy (Dave) Olson, and Patty Dorfman; brothers John, Charlie (Sharon), and Jerry (Yvonne) Greely; special friend Pam Van Puymbrouck; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeff is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores (Carlson) Greely; stepsons Daniel and Scott Greer; brother Pete Greely; and his parents Jack and Alice Greely.
A Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street in Superior, and will continue until the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM, with Fr. Louis Maram Reddy officiating. Burial will be in Nemadji Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Joe Kunert, Roger Yeazle, Mark Palmer, Terry Tucker, Terry Mayer, Mike Anderson, and Wally Barnard.
