Jennie Boroo

Jennie S. Boroo, 91,former South Range and Brule area resident, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 in St. Mary's Hospice Care Unit, Duluth. She was born on March 2, 1918 in Brule to Oscar and Ida (Herrinen) Ekstrom.
She graduated from the former Waino High School.
Jennie did beautiful crochet work and shared her crocheted items with many.
Jennie married Arne Boroo on October 15, 1938 at Zion Lutheran Church in Duluth and celebrated seventy years of marriage before he passed away on June 4, 2009.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Oulu, WI.
Jennie is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Holmbeck, Cumberland, WI, Phyllis (Les) Neubauer, Brule, WI; one son, Bryan (Linda) Boroo, Bennett, WI; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Ida Kotilainen, Finland, Europe; three sisters-n-law, Tyne Ekstrom, Fannie Boroo and Ailie Bonior and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Jennie was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Boroo; her parents; two brothers, Martin and Edward and two sisters, Esther and Helen.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service on Monday, June 29, 2009 in Hope Lutheran Church in Oulu, WI. Pastor Scott Stai will officiate.
Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Oulu.
Pallbearers for the service will be Tom, Adam, Darren and Brandon Neubauer, Eric Boroo, Mike Cheng, Nick and Ethan Skaggs and Ronald Holmbeck.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
