Jennifer Lemieux

Jennifer LeMieux, 43, longtime Superior area resident, died Friday, July 6, 2018 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN surrounded by her  family and friends. She was born on April 22, 1975 in Superior, WI the daughter of James and Judy (Lund) LeMieux.

Jennifer graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1993 and went on to attend UWS to earn a BA in social work. She also attended Lake Superior College for occupational therapy.  She was employed by Northwest Community Service Agency as Program Director for Transitional Housing.

Jennifer was a longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Cathedral Home and School Association.  She had a special love for animals. She enjoyed shoreline walks on Lake Superior with her son, Braylon and her K9 companion, Emmy. Jennifer will be remembered most for her special bond with her son, Braylon, her special smile. She also was Braylon’s biggest basketball fan.

Jennifer is survived by her son, Braylon LeMieux; her parents, Jim and Judy LeMieux, Superior; one sister, Jodee (Nathan Emanuelson) LeMieux, Duluth, MN; one brother, Jim LeMieux, Superior; two nephews, Caden LeMieux and Braden Emanuelson; Aunt, Nancy Lund who held a very special place in Jen’s heart and Godmother, Susan Haver and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Jennifer is also survived by many close friends and her special pets, Emmy and Cinnamon. She was preceded in death by her son Benjamin, maternal grandparents, John and Frances Lund and paternal grandparents, Loyd and Goldie LeMieux.

Visitation will begin at 10: 00 AM, Thursday, July 12, 2018 and continue until the 12:00 Noon Memorial Mass at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth and to the St. Mary’s staff on nine west and also a special thanks to Jen’s home hospice nurse, Jeanne.
