Jill K. Swanson

Jill K. Swanson, 59, longtime resident of Superior, died Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born on July 11, 1957 to Robert and Mary (Miller) Renquist in Superior, WI.

Jill graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1976, and later attended the St. Mary’s School for Dietary Aid in Duluth, MN. She married Dennis Swanson on August 6, 1993 in Superior and they celebrated four years of marriage before his passing in 1997. Jill enjoyed music, playing the organ and fishing. She was an avid bingo player and was very close with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Aaron Williams; three grandchildren, Tahlia, Keaton and Elle Williams; her parents, Robert and Mary Renquist, Superior, WI; one brother, Tom (Darlene) Renquist, Superior, WI and her nephew, James Renquist, Maple Grove, MN.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Swanson, 1997; two brothers, Robert Renquist, 2002 and Andy Renquist, 2016.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East Fifth Street, Superior, and continue until the 11:00 AM funeral service.
Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery.
