Joann Ruth Martens

JoAnn Ruth Martens, 62, longtime resident of Lakeside, CA, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in Superior, WI. She was born in Duluth, March 27, 1955, the daughter of Roy and Shirley (Haley) Ekberg.

She graduated from the former Central High School in Duluth, and went on to obtain her Associates Degree in Accounting from the Duluth Business University.

JoAnn married Patrick Martens on June 21, 1977, and they celebrated 6 years of marriage before his passing in 1983.

She is survived by her daughter, Jaime (Eric) Ambli, Superior, WI; two sisters; four brothers; and five grandchildren, Cody, Dylan, Bailey, Emily and Tommy.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and two brothers.

Per the family’s wishes, there will be no public services held.
