Joanne H. Bulanek

JoAnne H. Bulanek, 87, longtime resident of Iron River, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Twin Ports Health in Superior, WI.

She was born on December 24, 1934, in Ashland, Wisconsin, the daughter of Thomas and Vera (Beaver) Wells.

JoAnne graduated from the Iron River High School in 1954.

She was a lifelong member of Iron River Presbyterian Church, was a longtime member of the VFW American Legion Auxiliary #506, Rebekah Lodge #192 of Iron River, WI and the Bohemian Hall of Ashland, WI. She loved to travel and cook for her family and party. JoAnne especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren doing sleepovers.  She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Carlyn (Carey) Pohl, Jacksonville, FL, Melody (James) Vaughan, Sheboygan, WI, and Mary Jo (Rick) Himelewski, Ashland, WI; son, Larry Flint; grandchildren, Wayne, Scott E. (dec.), Sarah, Shannon, Amanda, Nathan, Matthew, Dylan, Amber, Mark, Shawna, Samantha and Samuel; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Savanna, Kayla, Lily, Conner, Harlee, Conrad, Taj, Kayliegh, Genia, Mackenzie, Eldred “Mister”, and Gianna; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Bulanek; grandson, Scott E. Pohl; infant sister, Vivan, Margaret Brunton and Shelby Bolles; brothers, Ronald and Dewey Wells.

Per JoAnne’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
