JoAnne Mae Koivisto, 58, longtime Superior resident, died peacefully, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Aspen Health and Rehabilitation in Hawthorne, WI.
She was born in Milwaukee, WI, May 25, 1967, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Fallos) Koivisto.
She went on to attend W.I.T.C. in Superior and later worked at SuperOne Foods in Superior for many years.
She loved the outdoors and enjoyed doing yardwork and tending to her garden. JoAnne especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a kind and loving sister, aunt, and friend with a compassionate soul and adventurous spirit, and will be dearly missed by her longtime love and best friend, her soulmate, Steve Doolittle, Superior, WI; sisters, Lynn Koivisto, Chippewa Falls, WI, and Tanya (Roger) Colby, Maple, WI; brothers, William “Bill” Koivisto Jr., Maple, WI, Scott Koivisto, Superior, WI; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Bryce) Koivisto, Superior, WI, Justine (Dylan) Hedrington, Chippewa Falls, WI, Emma Colby, Maple, WI, Derec Colby, Maple, WI, Holly Koivisto, Superior, WI, Hannah Koivisto, Superior, WI, Robert (Kaylee) Koivisto, Eau Claire, WI, Ramond (Erika) Koivisto, Iron River, WI; several great nieces and nephews, and longtime family friend, Bonnie Colby.
She is preceded in death by her sister Karen Koivisto and her parents.
A Time of Remembrance and Celebration of JoAnne’s Life will be held from 12:00 – 3 PM on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the VFW Post 10197, 8265 US-2, Iron River, WI.
