Jocile Peterson, 80, born September 22, 1930, died and went to heaven, March 9, 2011 at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior.
She was born into a hard working farming family in Dorchester, WI to Joseph and Verena Sulik and moved to Superior in 1954.
She married Jim Peterson in 1965, several years after the death of her first husband Ray Neuenfeldt.
She and Jim owned Jimmy’s Choo Choo Bar until 1977 at which time they began Peterson’s Greenhouse in Iron River, WI. Jocile was the “green thumb” in their successful greenhouse until they both retired at the age of seventy-two.
Several winters were enjoyed in Mesa, AZ and then Jocile and Jim returned to live in Superior in 2010.
Jocile was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Superior and St. Michaels Catholic Church in Iron River.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Raymond; and infant son, John; her parents and two sisters, Mary Ann Gebert and Neva Decker.
Jocile is survived by her husband Jim; two daughters, Rhnada Wiskerchen and Mary (Ralph) Johnson, three grandchildren, Joe, Jeneal and Allan; her sister, June Rudesill many beloved nieces and nephews and many beloved in-laws and their families.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon until the 1:00 PM Memorial Mass on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Superior, with Rev. Fr. Don Kania, as celebrant.
