John R. Archambault

J ohn R. Archambault, 82, longtime Superior resident, died peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Superior, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was born on October 8, 1935 in Superior, WI to Whitney and Freda (Hill) Archambault.

John married Luella Rouse on January 21, 1956 and they celebrated fifty-six  years of marriage before her passing in April of 2012. He worked for the Superior Fire Department retiring in 1992 as Captain after thirty-five years of service.  John was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.

John is survived by one daughter, Kim  Gatzke, Superior, WI; three sons, John T. Archambault and Robert (Julie) Archambault, both of Superior, WI and Brian (Millie) Archambault, Tarpon Springs, FL; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh) Rechtfertig, St. Paul, MN, Michele Archambault, Sheboygan, WI, Kaylyn (Ian) Mattson, Superior, WI, Matthew (Emily) Archambault, Superior, WI, Rolando Archambault, Jacksonville, FL, Melissa Archambault, Superior, WI, Paige Archambault  and Spencer Archambault, both of Tarpon Springs, FL and ten great-grandchildren, siblings, Dorothy Murray, Shirley Senenfelder, Eugene “Bunco” Archambault, Elaine  Lancour, Marilyn (Denny) Piggott, Patricia Archambault and Ronald “Jake” ( Sandy) Archambault, one sister-in-law, Maryann Archambault, several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Luella, son Jeffery, infant son, Joseph Thomas, one brother, Witney N. “Junior” Archambault  and his parents.

Per John’s wishes, no public services will be held.
