John R. Borg

John Rogers Borg, 76, resident of Lake Nebagamon, WI died of natural causes at his home on Sunday, February 21, 2021.  He was born on December 7th, 1944 in Brainerd, MN to Orville and Isobel Borg. He went to Brainerd schools and graduated in 1962 from Brainerd High School.  He attended Thief River Falls Vo-Tech.  He went into the Air Force in 1965 and was stationed in Germany until 1969.

John worked at Cutler-Magner in Duluth for over 30 years until his retirement.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  He was a Master Mason and belonged to the Scottish Rite and a member of the Shriners.  Through the years, he volunteered with the Lake Nebagamon Fire Department and belonged to the Lions Club.

H e enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, reading and spending time with family and friends and his dog Percy.

John is survived by and will be deeply missed by his daughter Valerie Pettingill, his sister Susan Friedrich, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11416 1 ^st Street North, Lake Nebagamon, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Celebration of Life with Pastor Darrell Kyle officiating.

Military Honors will be accorded at the church by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post 435 Honor Guard.
