John P. Gault, 61, Superior resident, died of brain cancer on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born on January 23, 1960, in Superior, WI to George and Rose (Roberts) Gault.
John graduated in 1978 from Superior Senior High School and from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 1985 receiving his Bachelor of Science in Accounting Degree. John was employed as a Cost Accountant at Barko Hydraulics for many years along with various other manufacturing facilities. His most recent place of employment was at Northern Engineering in Superior as an Accountant/Office Manager.
John was a longtime member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church. He enjoyed going to the 7:30 AM Sunday morning mass.
He enjoyed local high school sporting events like, football, basketball, hockey and fastpitch softball. He also enjoyed the same events at UWS and especially enjoyed Twin Ports Rampage fastpitch softball. John also enjoyed reading, hunting, and traveling overseas. John liked to cruise in his 1980 Camaro and spending time with his friends and their classic cars.
John was very grateful for the support he received from his close friends. They were always there when he needed help. He was also grateful for the offers of help he received from others and everybody’s prayers.
John is survived by two brothers, Mike Gault, Superior, WI and Dean Gault, St. Louis Park, MN; sister, Sharon Gault, Superior, WI; one niece, Kristen Gault, Minneapolis, MN; and a very special friend, LeAnne in Wyoming who was always there to keep his spirits high.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
