John Luostari

J ohn Luostari, 85, lifelong Maple, WI resident, died on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Northern Residence Assisted Living in Hawthorne, WI. He was born on September 11, 1931 in Superior, WI to Erik and Alma (Carvala) Luostari.

John graduated in 1949 from the former East High School in Superior. He was a farmer and logger for over thirty-seven years on the family farm in Maple, WI. John was a member of the Maple Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A sincere heartfelt thanks for the wonderful caregivers by the Northern Residence Home & Hospice. They shared family love to John, making him feel happy in his last years with dementia. So much appreciated!

John is survived by family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Maple Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church and continue until the 11:00 funeral service with Pastor Wayne Bergstedt officiating. Burial will be in the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery. Lunch will follow the burial and all are welcome.

The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
