John D. Pinkoski

John D. Pinkoski, 71, a life-long Superior resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Superior Rehabilitation Center in Superior, WI. John was born in Superior, WI, on September 15, 1948, to Stanley Pinkoski Sr. and Frances (Ciocarelli) Bartylla.

He grew up in the North End and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1966 and from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. John was a well-known bartender for many years at the Kro Bar and the VFW. John also assisted in taking care of his brother Stan, his sister Joyce and brother-in-law Al.

John was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed nights at the softball field and his time perfecting his bowling form. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

John is survived by son, Paul (Heather) Pinkoski, Chisholm, MN; daughter Carrie Ball, St. Paul, MN; son, David (Allissa) Pinkoski, Superior; stepson, Ron Sandstrom, Superior; stepdaughter, Jen VanAlstine, Superior; sister, Carol (Sean) McPartland, Chicago, IL, and his beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his brother Stanley Pinkoski Jr, his sister Joyce Brown, brother-in-law Al Brown, and his parents.

The family would like to thank Ruthie Pinkoski for all the loving care she provided John over the last 6 years and the team at Superior Rehab Center for their dedicated care during John's stay there.

A Celebration of Life will be held at V.I.P. – (Vintage Italian Pizza) with indoor and outside seating options in Superior on Wednesday September 2, 2020 from 4:00 P.M – 7:00 P.M. Interment will be on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary Cemetery in Superior.
