John R. Rose

John R. Rose, 83, of Maple, WI, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN after a two year battle with cancer. He was born on July 9, 1930 in Superior, WI.

John worked at CLM (Cutler-Magner) Lime Docks in Superior, WI for fifty years until his retirement in 1994.

He liked fishing, hunting, scuba diving and agate collecting. He also enjoyed wood carving and building and repairing things out of his machine shop. He was an avid NASCAR fan.

John is survived by his wife, Loretta Rose of sixty-two years; five children, John (Sharon) Rose, South Range, WI, Virginia Rose, Superior, WI, James (Pat) Rose, FL, Steve Rose, Clearwater, MN and Tim (Linda) Rose, Maple, WI; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three brothers, Tom (Sandra) Rose and Allen (Debbie) Avery, both of Minneapolis, MN and Terry (Luann) Avery, South Range, WI; one sister, Renee (Richard) Nelson, South Range, WI; sister-in-law, Betty Rose.

He is preceded in death by his brother Fred Rose.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
