ohnnie W. “Wayne” Langford, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospice Unit on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the age of 82.
He was born in Mount Park, OK on September 4, 1934 to Les and Alamae (Stockman) Langford.
Wayne, as he was known to all, served seventeen years in the United States Air Force, then owned and operated Mae’s and Les’s Grocery in Superior, WI for many years and also was an over the road truck driver, retiring in 2007.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine of 61 years; his children, Debra (Gene) Beetcher, Wanda (Tim Marken) Meinke, JoAnn (Rick) Drolson and Lori (John) Johnson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack (Pam) Langford and Jim (Sue) Langford.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son David Langford, sister Bobbie Nelson and brothers Roy and Donald Langford.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Belgium Club, 3931 E. 2nd Street, Superior.
The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
