Jonathan P. Handy

Jonathan P. Handy, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth on Friday, October 1, 2010. He was born on July 17, 1948 in Knife Falls Township, MN the son of Joan (Martineau) and Mike Handy.
He was lifelong Superior resident. He attended St. Louis Catholic School, served in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam and Korea.
He is a member of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Gloria Moyer and his wife, Roberta Lynne Johnson.
Jonis survived by aunts, Gloria “Sis” Quam and Pat Martineau; a niece, Billie Jo Moyer; two nephews Jason and Anthony Moyer; special friends, Jim and Carman Cuhel and his friends a Mamas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 and will continue on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Ave. Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci, pastor of Cathedral of Christ the King, will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
