Joseph Edward Buck, Sr., 79, Barnes, WI, died Friday, November 2, 2012 in Superior.

He was born on September 14, 1933 in Grand Forks, ND to Joseph Francis and Nora Cecelia Margaret (Morrison) Buck.

Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War also serving in Germany for two years. He was honorably discharged in November 1955.

He worked as a lead mechanic for Ruan Leasing and Transportation, retiring in 1996 after thirty-one years of dedicated service. In retirement, Joe worked for the Town of Barnes. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Joe was an avid Green Bay Packer and NASCAR fan and loved working on cars. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping and helping others. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Joe is survived by four sons, Joseph Buck, Jr., Fond du Lac, George Buck, Superior, Randy (Danelle) Buck, Superior, Troy Buck, Superior; three daughters, Kathryn (Dan) Parent, Superior, WI, Tammy (Bruce) Lepage, Wisconsin Rapids, Janice (Shan) Martineau, Superior; four step-daughters, Lynette Beckwell, Barnes, Bernadette Beckwell, Long Island, NY, Pamela Johnson, Coon Rapids, MN, Carla (Jon) Martin, Fountain City, WI; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; five sisters, Nora Grage, Mellen, Joanne Buck, Minneapolis, MN, Beverly Buck, Minneapolis, Jeannie Buck, Superior, Patsy Dagnan, Superior; three brothers, Ronald Buck, Donald Buck and Terry Buck, all of Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie in October 2009 and two brothers, Maynard and Richard Buck.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM Funeral Service on Friday, November 9, 2012 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Don Kania, Pastor of St. Anthony Catholic Church, officiating.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 and the Minnesota Patriot Guard.
