Joseph "Joe" E. Davidowski, 84, Brule, WI resident, died on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Twin Ports Health in Superior, WI. He was born on January 16, 1940, in Superior to Joseph and Veronica (Rukowski) Davidowski.
Joe graduated from the former East High School in Superior, WI, class of 1958. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force with the 101st Airborne and worked as a conservation warden for the D.N.R., retiring in 1994 after thirty four years of dedicated service.
Joe married Janice "Jan" Weyandt on July 11, 1959, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Iron River, WI. They celebrated nearly fifty-nine years of marriage before Jan's passing in June of 2018.
Joe was a longtime member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He especially enjoyed hunting with his grandchildren and trout fishing on the Brule River.
Joe is survived by his two sons, Jay (Brenda) Davidowski, Plymouth, MN and their children, Cole and Rory Davidowski, both of Plymouth, MN and Joel (Nicola) Davidowski, Park City, UT and their children, Austin "AJ", Andrew and Trey, all of Park City, UT.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Jan; brother David Davidowski in l963 after a Thanksgiving hunting accident.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Twin Ports Health Services for the wonderful care they provided Joe.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 68105 S. George Street, Iron River, WI, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Joji Boyapati as celebrant. A private family burial will be held at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Brule at a later time. Military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard. The DNR Honor Guard will be on site to recognize Joseph for his service.
