Joseph Moretto, 80, lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on March 19, 1930 to Gervazio and Alphonsa (Dincau) Moretto.
Joseph served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was employed as steel worker for U.S. Steel and Minntac for many years until his retirement.
He was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church. He enjoyed football and polka music.
Joseph is survived by a sister, Marie (James) Angelo, Superior, WI; brothers, Oliver (Irene) Moretto, Borea, WI and Victor (Shirley) Moretto, Wrenshall, MN and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Anthony “Tony”, Ido, Sarafino, Teto and Julio and sister, Antoinette.
Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Holy Assumption Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ronald Olson as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
Pallbearers for the service will be Joseph’s brother-in-law, James Angelo; and nephews, Ted, Jimmy and Dimitri Angelo, John and Jesse Tuomi.
The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
