Joyce Darlene Gustafson

Joyce Darlene Gustafson, 84, longtime South Range resident, died Monday, June 10, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.

Joyce was born in Fond du Lac, WI, on April 1, 1935, the daughter of Harold and Matilda McArthur. While in Fond du Lac Joyce graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy. She was united in marriage to Carl R. Gustafson, August 26, 1977, and they celebrated forty-one years together before her passing.

Joyce worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Russell Creamery. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved to play Bunko with her neighborhood friends. She also enjoyed her flower gardens.

Joyce is survived by her beloved husband, Carl, South Range, WI: daughter, Susan Lucas, Poplar, WI; step-daughter, Cherrie (Dean) Moore, Superior, WI; step-sons, Donovan (Terri) Gustafson, South Range, WI and Jarl (Kathleen) Gustafson, Homer, AK; sixteen grandchildren, Jamie and Katelyn Olaf, Julie Chen, Justin, Jenna, Alex, Mikhael, Kayde, Donovan, Casey, Lori, Andy, Michelle, Tony, Rudy and Ellen; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey and Mary; several nieces and nephews and special nephew Doren McArthur; and special friends, Tara Oksa and Jim Olaf.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leroy; grandson, Webb Gustafson; and granddaughter, Anneka Moore.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11416 E. 1 ^st Street North, Lake Nebagamon, WI, and will continue until the 10:00 AM memorial service with Pastor Darrell Kyle officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.
