Joyce Darlene Gustafson

Joyce Darlene Gustafson, 84, longtime area resident, died Monday, June 10, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. She was born in Fond du Lac, WI, on April 1, 1935, the daughter of Harold and Matilda (maiden name) McArthur.

She was united in marriage to Carl R. Gustafson, August 13, 1977, and they celebrated forty-one years together before her passing.

Joyce worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Russell Creamery and Skillings Mining Company. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to play Bunko with her neighborhood friends. She also enjoyed her flower gardens.

Joyce is survived by her beloved husband, Carl, South Range, WI; daughter, Susan Lucas, Poplar, WI; step-daughter, Cherrie (Dean) Moore, Superior, WI; step-sons, Donovan (Terri) Gustafson, South Range, WI, and Jarl (Kathleen) Gustafson, Homer, Alaska; grandchildren, Jamie, Katlyn, Julie, Justin, Jena, Alex, Mikhel, Katie, Donovan, Casey, Andy, Michele, Tony and Rudy; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey and Mary and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Funeral arrangements are being planned for later this summer.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.
