Joyce Arlene Hendricks

Joyce Arlene Hendricks, 79, of Superior died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Superior.

Joyce was born on May 5, 1931 to Roy and Irene (Sewall) Dickenson in Superior, WI. She grew up in Allouez and graduated from East High School in Superior.

On April 25, 1950 she married Al “Russ” Hendricks.
She was a stay at home mom until her youngest daughter went to school. She then worked in the Superior School District as a teacher’s aide for many years. After retiring from the school district she worked at Lignell Drug Store and volunteered at SMDC in Superior.

Joyce devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and friend to many.
She was a member of the former St. Patrick’s Church in Billings Park and secretary of St. Joan of Arc Circle.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing, traveling, playing bingo, cooking and baking cookies.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Al “Russ”, her brother Roy and her parents.

She is survived by her sons, Russ (Terri) Hendricks and Scott (Pam) Hendricks; her daughters, Sharon (Oscar) Schield, Bonnie (Brad) Frisinger, Cathy Gilbert and Amy (Dan) Geegan; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brothers, Glenn Dickenson and Tom (Barbara) Dickenson; her special friend Ken Udean and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior. Visitation will resume at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and continue until the 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
