Joyce Peterson

Joyce Peterson, 89, lifelong resident of Poplar, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Middle River Health in Hawthorne, WI. She was born on June 26, 1935, the daughter of Chester and Ruth (Beckman) Peterson.

She was in the first graduating class from Northwestern High School in Maple, WI. She then furthered her education at W.I.T.C in Superior, earning her secretarial degree.

Joyce was a lifelong member of the former Bethany Lutheran Church, now Peace Lutheran Church, in Poplar. She also served as secretary under both names for many years and loved being able to get to know everyone in her community.

She was an avid sports fan who loved the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. Joyce also loved to scrapbook a took pride in her albums over the years. She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.

Joyce is survived by her nephew Gary (Mary) Peterson, Poplar, WI; great-niece and nephews Melissa (Cassidy) Javner , Christopher Peterson, and Cory Peterson; and great-great-niece Ali Javner.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church, 9523 US-2 in Poplar, and will continue until the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Donna Rutten officiating.
