Judith Ross, 82, resident of Superior, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Villa Marina Nursing Home in Superior. She was born on April 25, 1941, the daughter of Charles and Angeline (Grandmont) Deneweth.
On August 10, 1963, Judy married William “Bill” Ross. They celebrated fifty-eight wonderful years together, before his passing in 2021.
Judy was a longtime member of St. Williams Catholic Church in Foxboro, WI, and served the church for many years. She was also a former member of the Homemakers Club, Garden Club, and the Ladies of the Moose Lodge #66 in Superior.
She worked as a teacher for the Diocese of Superior and taught at many area schools including St. Francis, St. Louis, and St. Joseph’s Childrens Home. Judy was also a Home Interiors dealer for many years. She also spent time at home, caring for her growing family.
Judy was a very creative person who loved to make personal greeting cards and even wrote and published a book for her great-grandson, Will. Above all, Judy loved being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as much as possible.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her loving daughters, Jill (David) Johnson and Shana Ross, both of Superior; grandchildren Brian (Hannah) Johnson and Victoria Johnson; great-grandchildren William “Will” and Elsie Johnson; sister Marlys (Jim) Barthen; stepsisters Laurie (Jeff) Dahl and Janis (Steve) Szorc; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill and stepsister Lynn (Dwight) Davis.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at St. Williams Catholic Church, 3095 E. Cty. Road B in Foxboro, and will continue until the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as officiant.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery at a later date.
