Juliana Burke-Rinnet, 107, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Twin Ports Health Care in Superior, WI. She was born on May 22, 1918, the daughter of Valentine K. and Mamie (Pietari) Burke in Hibbing, MN.
She graduated from Maple High School. Juliana and Toivo Rinnet were wed on July 2, 1945 in Maple at Faith Lutheran Church. They celebrated 72 years together before Toivo passed in 2017.
Juliana was member of the Järvenpää Finnish Singers in Duluth, MN . At one time, she was employed in a shoe factory out East. She used to clean houses in Superior and also worked as waitress. She was known for her cooking and sewing and taking care of Toivo. She loved gardening and growing flowers, particularly roses. She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of Twin Ports Health Services and Essentia Health Hospice Care for the wonderful care they offered Juliana during her stay there.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E 5th Street in Superior, and continue until the 12:00 PM funeral service with Pastor Victor St. George officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard Rinnet, Raymond Rinnet, Robert Rinnet, and John Peterson.
