Julie Lynn Anderson

Julie Lynn Anderson, 58, longtime area resident, died Monday, April 15, 2019 at her home in Port Wing, WI after a four-year courageous battle with ALS. She was born in Superior, May 9, 1960, the daughter of Albert J. and Nancy D. (Nurkkala) Rantala.

Julie was united in marriage to James Anderson at Hope Lutheran Church in Oulu in 1983, and they were soon to celebrate thirty-six years of marriage. She was Teachers Aid for Special Education in the South Shore School District for many years, and truly loved working with her special need’s children.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Anderson, Port Wing, WI; daughters, Jennifer Anderson, Appleton, WI, Jolene and Janice Anderson, both of Port Wing, WI; sisters, Sandy Rantala, Oulu, WI, Theresa (Grey) Garner, Crystal, MN, and Betty (Joe) Bailey, Port Wing, WI; brothers, Ronnie (Patti) Rantala and Rudy (Chris) Rantala, of Oulu, WI; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Joan Anderson, Washburn, WI.

She is preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Carl (Dossie) Anderson; and sister-in-law, Joan Anderson.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Monday, April 22, 2019, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 68160 South George Street, Iron River, and will continue until the 11:00 Memorial Service with Pastor Carol Braun officiating.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Port Wing, WI.
