Karen Adele Livingston

Karen Adele Livingston, 63, Superior, died Friday, June 24, 2011 in her home of natural causes.

She was born on October 2, 1947 in Ontonagon, MI to Bernard and Edith (Wolfe) Livingston.

She lived most of her life in Foxboro and Superior.

She graduated from the former Central High School in 1965 and went on to receive her degree in Licensed Practical Nursing with Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College.

Karen retired after thirty years of working in local area hospitals and home care facilities.

She also served several years as a supervisor of District 8 on the Douglas County Board.

The world lost a most wonderful person, a mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and best friend.

She loved and dedicated her life to the Lord.

She had a kind and loving heart and gave of herself to everyone especially to young people.

She was an active member of the First Covenant Church in Superior.

Karen is survived by her son, James N. Livingston, Black River Falls, WI; her mother, Edith Livingston, Superior; one sister, Diana (Michael) Flaherty, Eagle River, AK; five brothers, Roger Livingston, Embarrass, MN, Denis Livingston, Janesville, WI, Michael Livingston, Foxboro, WI, Marcal (Ella) Livingston, Webster, WI, John (Claudette) Livingston, Foxboro, WI and her loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM until the 3:00 PM Funeral Service on Friday, July 1, 2011 in the First Covenant Church with Pastor Karl Freeberg, officiating assisted by Pastor Steve Staurseth and Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci.

Pallbearers for the service will be her brothers and brother-in-law.

Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
