Karen S. Monson-Thompson, 60, Superior resident, died Saturday, May 30, 2020 at her home. She was born on August 23, 1959 in Ypsilanti, MI to Robert and Mary Lou (Thomas) Monson.
Karen graduated the University of Central Michigan receiving her BA degree and from the University of Minnesota-Duluth receiving her MA degree in Fiber Art. She owned and operated the Summer Winter Studio. Karen enjoyed weaving and coordinating the Park Point Art Fair for many years.
She married Robert Thompson on October 1, 1983 at Park Point in Duluth and they would have celebrated thirty-seven years of marriage this year.
Karen is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Chadd (Christina Gilbert) Thompson, Duluth, MN and Ethan Thompson, MI; two grandsons, Zachary and River Thompson; her mother, Mary Lou Monson, Superior, WI and her father, Robert Monson, MI and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Per Karen’s wishes, no public services are being planned.
