Kathleen “Kathy” Fitzgerald, 79, of Lake Nebagamon, passed away peacefully Monday, May 6th, 2024, with family by her side. Kathy battled with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) most of her adult life and has now joined our Lord and Savior in heaven free of this debilitating disease.
Kathy was born March 5, 1945, in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Howard and Orpha (Christianson) Hartley.
Mom loved her UMD Bulldogs hockey and would rarely miss a televised game and attended in person often. Her house was always decorated with her amazing quilts that she enjoyed making with friends from Church. These gifts are treasured by her friends and family. Kathy’s favorite holiday was Christmas, perfect for living in the northland, she always decorated the house for the winter holiday.
To know Kathy was to know that she loved to talk, and whether it was a stop at the house, or a call, it would take a while and she would always leave you smiling and feeling good about your time spent visiting with her, we will miss that the most.
She was a wonderful wife, and mother to her two boys. She will be dearly missed by her husband Tim; sons Paul and Lee Pedersen; Grandson Matt; her sister Jean Munro (David); nephews Dan Munro, Scott Munro (Colleen Connor); cousin Cheri Beisang (Steve); and many other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Orpha Hartley.
The Family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Aspen Health and Rehabilitation in Middle River, WI for the wonderful and kind care that was provided to Kathy in her 11 years residing there.
Services will be held at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street in Superior, on Monday May 20, 2024, with visitation at 11:00 am and a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm. Burial arrangements with be made by family at a later date.
