Kathleen J. Jacobson

Kathleen J. Jacobson, 69, Superior resident, put her twenty year battle with cancer in God’s hands on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Duluth, MN.
She was born on December 20, 1940 in Superior, WI to Oscar and Anne (Keonig) Anderson.

Kathleen married Vernon Jacobson on June 4, 1971 in Superior, WI and celebrated thirty-nine years of marriage.

She was a longtime member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church.

She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved Johnny Cash. She enjoyed doing crafts, puzzles, gardening and listening to 50’s music. Kathleen also loved spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Vernon, daughters, Lynanne (Larry) Kristensen, Duluth, MN and Judy Kujava, Superior, WI; grandchildren, Lucy and Linus Kujava, Anna and Cindy Kristensen and Lily Jacobson; sister, Betty Peters, Superior, WI; brothers, George (Carol) Anderson, Wrenshall, MN, Richard (Orlaine) Anderson, Wentworth, WI and Jim Anderson, Superior, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son John Jacobson and daughter Nancy Jacobson, brothers Charles, Jack, Francis and Robert Anderson and a sister Marie Johnson.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 29, 2010 at Holy Assumption Catholic Church until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Ronald Olson as celebrant.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be Steve, Bob, Mike and Jim Knutson, Walter and Roger Johnson and Chip Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kathleen’s grandchildren, Lucy and Linus Kujava, Anna and Cindy Kristensen and Lily Jacobson, and nephews Jesse and Daniel Anderson.
