Kathleen Jo Katzmarek

Kathleen Jo Katzmarek, 68, of Superior, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, January 24th, 2026 at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN.

She was born in Superior, WI on June 18, 1957, the daughter of Melvin J. Lindberg and Joanne Stone (Graef).

Kathy graduated from Superior High School in 1975. In 1977, she began her barber apprenticeship and was a barber through the rest of her life. She became co-owner of Barber and Beauty in East End Superior and was well known as “Buzzy”.

Kathy’s interests included spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed music, art, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Kathy had a radiant personality and was always the life of the party. She was known for her sense of humor and ability to make anybody smile. Kathy will be remembered as a woman full of light and love, who was loved by many.

Preceding her in death was her father, Melvin Lindberg; and stepfather, Carey C. Stone.

Kathy is survived by her son, Kody (Andriah) Katzmarek of Superior; 3 grandchildren; mother, Joanne Stone of Superior; sister, Jennifer (Eric) Hester of Hermantown; brothers, Larry (Wendy) Lindberg who now lives in Texas and Greg Lindberg of Superior, 3 nephews and 2 nieces.

Kathy’s Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date and will be open to the public.
