Kathleen K. Schaller

Kathleen K. Schaller, 47, lifelong resident of Superior, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2024, with her loving family by her side, at Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital in Superior. She was born in Duluth, MN on June 17, 1977, the daughter of Larry and Doreen (Holm) Schaller.

She graduated from Northwestern High School, in Maple, WI, in the class of 1995. Kathy most recently worked for Northwest Wisconsin Community Services and Walmart for over 28 years.

Kathy loved to read and listen to all kinds of music. She also loved watching Hallmark movies all year round. But most of all, Kathy loved being a mother to her son, Gavin. She never missed a football, basketball, or baseball game of his and enjoyed their weekly visits to the skatepark. Kathy cherished every minute they spent together.

She will be forever missed by her son, Gavin Ward, Superior; father Larry Schaller; sisters Kolleen (Rich) Oswskey, Maple, WI, Joann (Robert) Lietha, South Range, WI, and Amanda (Dave) Sjoberg, Cloquet, MN; nieces and nephews Brooklyn, Brecken, and Bryce Oswskey, Tyler and Greta Lietha, and David Landon Sjoberg; father of her son Blake Ward; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her mother, Doreen Schaller.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Essentia Health for the kind and compassionate care they provided Kathy.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11416 1st St. N. in Lake Nebagamon, and will continue until the Memorial Service at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Katie Wagner officiating. There will be a luncheon following immediately after the service. Private burial will be at the Highland Cemetery.
