Kathleen M. Starkey

Kathleen M. “Katy” Starkey, 68, lifelong Superior resident, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Duluth, MN. She was born in Superior on August 16, 1955, the daughter of Gene and Jeanne (Murphy) Starkey.

She graduated from Superior Senior High School and went on to work for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. She worked there for many years and retired as an engineer.

Katy is survived by her mother, Jeanne; brother David; and nephew Gene G. Starkey.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gene.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
