Keith Marin, 66, Superior, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born on May 29, 1946 in Superior to Percy R. and Eleanor (LaPointe) Marin.
He graduated from the former Central High School in 1964.
Keith married his wife Irene Herrick on January 15, 1966 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Superior and celebrated forty seven years of marriage.
He was employed as the chief grain weigher at Cennex-Harvest State Grain Elevators.
Keith was a longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting with his brothers-in-law. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cribbage and he enjoyed playing smear at the Belgium Club. He loved camping at Wasko’s Campground, which he did for many years. He loved spending time with his family and friends especially with his new granddaughter Kiahna.
In addition to his wife Irene, Keith is survived by one daughter, Juliane Marin, Superior; one son, Scott Marin, Superior; his special granddaughter, Kiahna Irene, Superior; his mother, Eleanor Helland, Pahrump, NV; two sisters, Starr Tahtinen, Solon Springs, WI, Mary Ann McCoy, Pahrump, NV; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and his special canine friend, Buster.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gail Smith; brother-in-law, Ronald Tahtinen, Sr.; nephew, Ronald Tahtinen, Jr.; and his maternal grandparents with whom he was very close, Leo and Elizabeth LeRoux.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Superior with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant.
Pallbearers for the service will be his son Scott; his brothers-in-law, Walter, Jr., Robert, James and Donald Herrick, his nephews, Rob Herrick and Mark Smith, great nephews Jim and Wayne French and Robert Tahtinen and a friend, Ryan Stanford.
