Kelli A. Jones, 44, resident of Poplar, WI, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN, surrounded by her family.
She entered this world on May 18th, 1980, the same day Mount St. Helens, in Skamania County, Washington erupted, and from that day on, Kelli lived her life in the same fierce manner. Always curious, thoughtful, and kind, but always pushing the envelope. Unlike her siblings who were "dip your toes in first" kind of people, Kelly was a "cannonball into the water."
Growing up in the small community of Superior, her love of talking and making new friends started early in school. She was a star athlete and record breaker in everything she started. It always came naturally to her, but she never wanted to be the center of attention. But if you were lucky enough to know her, you knew that came naturally to her as well.
Marrying the love of her life, Ryan and having her two beautiful children, Karsyn and Logan, were her happiest moments. Everything she did was always for her family. Every practice, game, dance, graduation, and even the small moments of everyday, brought a smile to her face and huge sense of pride.
Not a day will go by that Kelli is not missed on this earth. Her radiant personality and infectious laugh will be forever remembered. Her family will always hold their memories of Kelli tight, but it will never be the same without her.
She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 17 years, Ryan Jones; her pride and joys, daughter Karsyn (Grant Maki) Jones and son Logan Jones; her parents Cherie Stone and Gary (Barb Schuman) Brown; stepdad Dana Stone; sister Kristen (Patrick) Etter; brother Kyle (Dr. Guillermo Garcia) Stone Garcia; nephews Evan and Connor Etter; special aunts and uncles Kym (Mike) Nepper, Darla (Jim) Woodall, and Sandy Gunski; mother and father in law Scott and Gayle Jones; brother-in-law Kevin Jones; faithful canine companion, Mauer; and several cousins she was especially close to.
Kelli is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Roy and Lorraine Brown; maternal grandparents Robert and Victoria Reed; uncle Mike Reed; and uncle Mike Gunski.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who has supported them during this soul shattering loss.
A Celebration of Kelli's Life will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Log Cabin, 2821 S. County Road E in South Range, WI.
