Kenneth L. Garland

Kenneth L. Garland, 71, lifelong area resident, died peacefully, Thursday, April 30, 2020 at his home in Lake Nebagamon, WI. He was born in Superior, December 29, 1948, the son of Ward and Violet (Winnen) Garland.

Ken graduated from Northwestern High School in 1967.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army as a Firefighter during Vietnam, and was a Fireman at Yakima Airbase Live Fire Training Facility in Yakima, WA.

Ken loved to work! He earned his Master Plumber Certification on April 9, 1990, and owned and operated Garland Plumbing and Heating for many years and was known as “The Plumber”. He was also a charter member of Lost Race Motorcycle Club.

He is survived by his son, Adam Kenneth (Eugena) Garland, Lake Nebagamon, WI; sisters, Patricia (Robert) Huettl, South Bend, IN, and Gean Garland, Aurora, MN; brother, Douglas (Dorothy) Garland, Biwabik, MN; grandchildren, Haley Garland, Wyatt Andren, Ace Calton, and Rodney Birk; uncle, David (Gerri) Winnen, Big Lake, MN and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Garland; niece, Heather Garland; nephews, Brian Garland, and Charles Huettl; and great-niece, Christina Stauffer.

Per Ken’s wishes, no public services will be held.
