Kevin M. Johnson

Kevin Michael Johnson, 52, resident of South Range, WI, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Superior, WI on July 6, 1972, the son of Robert and Kathryn (Jones) Johnson.

He graduated from Northwestern High School in the class of 1990. Kevin completed many years of continuing education to enhance his career being employed at Twin Ports Testing, then Murphy Oil, to Enbridge in Superior. He has held many titles over the years and loved working for the company.

Kevin married Lisa Brackett in 2007 on Barkers Island in Superior. They recently celebrated seventeen wonderful years together.

As an avid outdoorsman, Kevin enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, tractor rides, fishing, camping, and trap shooting. If he wasn't at home working on a project, he could be found riding his side-by-side with Lisa or relaxing at the camper on his favorite lake in Barnes. He was also an avid Wisconsin sports fan and never missed a Packer, Brewer, or Badger game. Kevin could also fix absolutely anything! His mechanic abilities were incredible, and he spent a lot of time restoring vintage snowmobiles and lawn mowers. Above all, he loved being with his family and friends. He always enjoyed an abundance of excellent friends from not only his work history, but also from projects he has done plus his fun from the outdoors side by siding, snowmobiling, camping and catching the football games at his favorite places with friends and family. He felt such joy and love when he was able to spend time with his grandchildren and he will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

Kevin is survived by his beloved wife Lisa, South Range; children Laina (Justin) Thalacker, Chippewa Falls, WI, Layla Starcevich, Indiana, Stephanie (Neil) Pearson, Maple, WI; and Jack (Kalsey) Sundvick, Ironwood, MI; mother Kathy (Tom Miesbauer) Johnson, Superior; grandchildren Dawson, Bella, Aubree, Mavrick, Little Jack, Leon, and one soon to be granddaughter, Alaiya; sister Renee (Jeff) Priem, Solon Springs; nephews Jeffery (Briana), Trevor, and Bryce Priem; and great nephew and niece Cooper and Enzlee Priem; and special aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert (Bob) Johnson; uncles Ronald Johnson and Allan (Skip) Jones; father-in-law Brian Brackett; mother-in-law Mary Miner; grandparents Harvey and Helen Johnson.

A Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street in Superior, and will continue until the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Darrell Kyle officiating. A Celebration of Kevin's Life will also be held on Saturday from 2:00 - 6:00 PM, at the Checkerboard Bar, 3957 County Road E in South Range.
