Larry Allen Tapper, 79, longtime Superior resident, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, in his home. He was born on June 16, 1944, in Duluth, MN, the son of Victor and Joan (Davenport) Tapper.
He graduated from Denfeld High School in Duluth. Soon after, he joined the United States Air Force and worked his way up to Master Sargent. He was also a member of the 148th Minnesota Air National Guard.
Larry loved life and was always prepared for anything! He enjoyed keeping up with the news and loved sitting down with a good book and listening to the loons. He was also an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt, fish, and go camping. In his younger years, Larry was involved in many sports including football and basketball. His love of life and adventurous spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter Peggy (Keith) Mullikin; sons Brian and Mark Tapper; stepdaughters Mary (Bob) Bowman, Debbie (Tom) Dolan, and Bettijo Marx; siblings Glenn Tapper and Vicky Thompson; daughter-in-law Natasha; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife Gloria E. Tapper; stepson Rodney Jendrejewski and his parents Victor and Joan Tapper.
Per Larry’s request, no services will be held at this time.
