Laura K. Kaufman

Laura K. Kaufman, 55, Superior resident, died  Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN from injuries she sustained from a fall. She was born on October 12, 1963 in Cloquet, MN to Floyd and Lillian (Aho) Kaufman.

She was employed in the food service industry as a dietary aid for many years.

Laura was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved the Wisconsin Badgers, Minnesota Wild and Chicago Cubs. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends. She loved Webb Lake, playing pool, flower gardening, sitting around the fire pit, listening to music and fishing.

Laura is survived by her life partner of twenty-seven years. Rae Ann Backlund, Superior, WI; her son, Justin (Mikki Nindorf) Kaufman, Superior, WI and Mikki’s two children, Jace and Raylee; three sisters, Kim (Ed) Routley,  Lynne Gunnon,  and Pam Shofner, all of Superior, WI; three brothers, Fred (Greta) Kaufman, Ted Kaufman, both of Superior, WI and Andrew “Roo” (Diane)  Kaufman, Duluth, MN;  several Aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many family friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, nephew Cody Routley, her life partner’s parents, Ray and Char Backlund, two brothers-in-law, Tim Shofner and Larry Gunnon and her canine companions, Eddie and Lucy.

A Time of Remembrance and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Borders Sports Bar & Grill 0n Hwy 105 in Superior.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff in the Neuro Trauma ICU and palliative and supportive care for the wonderful care given to Laura.
