Laurie J. Soderlund

Laurie J. Soderlund, 59, Iron River, WI, died Friday, January 10, 2020 in Superior, WI after her battle with cancer. She was born on September 25, 1960 in Superior, WI to Donald and Rose (Rampier) Tullberg.

She graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1978.

Laurie married Jeff Soderlund on July 27, 1979 and they celebrated forty years of marriage.

She was a member of the Pattison Park Lions Club, founding charter originator of the “Fishin’ Chicks” Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness, and was a major contributor to the Essentia Health Foundation. She enjoyed traveling, 4-wheeling, and pontooning during the summer months. She had a love of scrapbooking and making hand-made greeting cards and also adored panda bears.

Laurie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends and who was always smiling.

Laurie is survived by her husband, Jeff; children, Brant (Julie) Soderlund, Westport, WA and Portia (Kevin) Trapp, Sault Ste. Marie, MI; five grandchildren, Kaylee, Maia, Natalie, Ethan and Hailey; her mother, Rose DeGraef, Iron River, WI; two sisters, Donna Shykes, Superior, WI and Sherry (Keith) Tanula, Iron River, WI; two brothers, Russell and Wesley Tullberg, both of Amnicon; three brothers-in-law, Michael (Linda) Soderlund, Timothy Soderlund, and Rob (Melanie) Soderlund; two sisters-in-law, Sue Slough and Marie (Casey) Christianson, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father Donald Tullberg and brother Bruce Tullberg.

A Celebration of Laurie's Life will be held from 12-4:00 PM, Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the Belgian Club, 3931 E. 2nd Street, Superior.
