Laverne Bolin

LaVerne M. Bolin, 78, Superior, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. She was born on May 31, 1931 to Elmer and Myrtle (Haugen) Holmaas in Warren, MN.
After graduating from high school, LaVerne went on to nursing school from which she graduated in 1951. She worked as a nurse in Minneapolis, Grand Forks, Texas and Superior where she was employed at the Golden Living Center of Superior, formerly Beverly Health Center and at the Trade Winds Residence.
She enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers; her RV trips to Texas; bird watching and spending time with her family.
LaVerne was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Patti Ayotte, Foxboro, Lori Bolin, Superior; two sons, Terry Bolin and James Bolin, both of Superior; three sisters, Yvonne (Robert) Wheaton and Audrey Maki, both of Arizona, Marlys (Mel) Bakken, Thief River Falls, MN; two grandchildren, Renee Ayotte and Jacob Bolin; three great-grandchildren, Wendy, Elizabeth and Melanie; three nieces, Wendy, Melanie and Angie and five great-nephews Ben, Andy, Justin, Logan and Jacob.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Andy Hjelle and a stepsister, Lois Hjelle.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service on Saturday, October 24, 2009 in Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor David Schoessow officiating.
Burial will be in New Folden, MN.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
