Lawrence J. Bustrak

December 30, 1930 — August 24, 2012

Lawrence J. “Larry” Bustrak, 81, Superior resident, died Friday, August 24, 2012 unexpectedly in Superior. He was born on December 30, 1930 in Superior, WI to John and Olga (Johnson) Bustrak.

Larry grew up in Brule and graduated from the Iron River High School. He received his training in agriculture from the University of Wisconsin, at Madison.

He was employed as a Grain Inspector for the Federal Grain Commission for twenty-three years and following retirement he went on to Seaway Testing inspecting grain.

Larry married Cyrilla Szybnski on August 23, 1969 and just celebrated forty-three years of marriage.

He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Larry enjoyed deer hunting, bow hunting and was an avid golfer. He loved cooking, picking berries, doing crossword puzzles and taking bike rides. He also enjoyed “coffeeing with the Bob’s.”

Larry is survived by his wife Cy; two daughters, Julie (John) Bustrak Komorowski, Valders, WI and Karen (Mike) Nikstad, Superior, WI; two sons, Brian (Jan) Bustrak, Brule, WI and Chris (Susan) Bustrak, Moose Lake, MN; twelve grandchildren, Allison, John, Kristen, Sharon, Travis, Tatum, Tessa, Michelle, Joseph, Jeffrey, Adam, Alex and great-granddaughter Lyrica; one sister, Audrey Pollari, Boise, ID and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Katherine.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 820 Belknap Street, Superior and continue until the 1:00 PM Celebration of his Life Service with Pastor Will Mowchan officiating.

Inurnment will be in Poplar Cemetery.

The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
